Terms of Service
The rules for using MyTestAtlas: who it is for, what you may do, and what results are not.
Effective date: 25 September 2026. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of MyTestAtlas at https://mytestatlas.com, including its assessments, guides, the focus room, the public API and any account you create. By using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. What MyTestAtlas Is
MyTestAtlas is designed for adults and provides educational practice, entertainment, and self-reflection. Some pages are written for children: the picture puzzles at /think/non-verbal-reasoning-for-kids/ and the children’s learning pages and worksheets under /kids/. (The English and study-skills tests under /learn/ are for adults.) They are for a parent, carer or teacher to use with a child, who needs no account; the adult chooses the activity, its settings and what is printed. All current children’s activities and worksheets are free. Worksheets you print may be copied for use at home and in classrooms, but not sold or republished. MyTestAtlas provides instructions, results and source credits for its tests.
2. Using your results
Results are not medical or psychological diagnoses, official intelligence scores, employment selection tools, or professional career advice. IQ-style estimates on this site are practice estimates, not results from a standardized intelligence assessment, and must not be represented as an IQ score to any employer, school, society or clinician.
Do not use a result for emergency, medical, legal, financial, hiring, education-admission, insurance, or other consequential decisions. If attention or mental-health concerns cause distress or impairment, speak with a qualified professional. MyTestAtlas is not an emergency or crisis service.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the public tests for personal, non-automated reflection and practice, and a teacher may use the reading speed test with a class as section 4b describes, or run a class with the tests section 4c covers. You may not scrape item banks, defeat technical safeguards, misrepresent a result as a professional credential, or use the service to make decisions about another person.
4. Accounts
The tests are free and need no account. If you sign in with Google, keep your Google account secure, do not share the account, and use it only for yourself; one person, one account. We may suspend an account used to scrape the item banks, to resell access, or to make decisions about another person. You may delete your account at any time, and doing so deletes what is saved under it — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that covers. Saving a result and sharing it by a link are your decisions; a shared result remains subject to section 2 and must not be used to make decisions about the person who shared it.
4a. Team Assessments
A team workspace is for practice and development. Team owners must not use results to hire, promote, discipline, dismiss or otherwise decide about a person, must invite only people they have a legitimate reason to invite, and must honour a withdrawal. The workspace offers only reasoning forms; it produces no pass, fail, ranking or recommendation, and its scores are not a validated selection instrument.
4b. Class Sessions
The passages are written for adult readers, and the figures have no norms.
The same rules apply to every test in a teacher’s class: results are for practice and your own overview, never to grade, place or rank a pupil, or present them as a reading age, grade level or diagnosis.
4c. Teachers’ Classes
When you run a class, your school (or you, if you act on your own account) decides why pupils’ results are collected, and MyTestAtlas processes them only to provide the class to you: we do not sell them, use them for advertising or profiling, show them to anyone else, or keep them in live storage beyond 120 days (400 days for a class made on Class Pro).
You confirm that your school allows you to use this service, or that you have any consent your school or local law requires; that you will not put a pupil’s name or other identifying detail into the service.
As the processor of those results, under Article 28 of the GDPR and the UK GDPR, we:
- process them only on your documented instructions, which are these terms and what you set in the class, and tell you at once if we think an instruction infringes data protection law;
- make sure everyone who handles them is bound to confidentiality;
- protect them with the security measures in section 10 of the privacy policy (Article 32);
- use sub-processors under your general written authorisation, which you give by accepting these terms: today Amazon Web Services (hosting, in the EU) and, for your sign-in only, Google. We tell you, by email to your account address, before we add or replace one, and you may object; if you do, you can delete your classes before the change takes effect. Each sub-processor is bound by a written contract to the same data-protection obligations as these terms (Article 28(2) and 28(4));
- help you answer a request from a pupil or parent, which we pass to you because only your device can tell which seat is theirs;
- help you, with the information we hold, with a data protection impact assessment and with any prior consultation of a supervisory authority (Article 28(3)(f));
- at the end of the service, return the results as the CSV export on your class page or delete them, as you choose; deleting a class, a seat’s results or your account removes them from live storage at once and from our encrypted backups within 35 days, and everything is deleted after 120 days, or 400 for a class made on Class Pro (Article 28(3)(g));
- give you the information needed to show these commitments are kept, and allow and contribute to audits, including inspections, by you or an auditor you mandate, on reasonable notice (Article 28(3)(h));
- email your account address without undue delay if we learn of a breach affecting your class.
For schools in California and elsewhere with similar rules for services designed for school use: we do not use pupils’ results or anything about the pupils’ pages for targeted advertising, do not build a profile of a pupil, do not sell or rent any of it, keep it secured, and delete it when the teacher or school asks.
The free caps are stated with their date on /teachers/ and may change; a change never deletes a class you already have before its 120 days.
4d. Coaches
When you use the coach cabinet you decide why your clients’ shared numbers are collected, and MyTestAtlas processes them only to show them to you, as section 2.11 of the privacy policy describes. You confirm that you will send links only to people who have agreed to take a reflection with you, that you will put no client’s name or other identifying detail into the service, that you will never add answers of your own to a group or use a group’s summary to work out one person’s numbers, and that you will never use the cabinet, a client’s numbers or a group’s spread to decide whom to hire, promote, rank, discipline or dismiss. A group summary is shown once five or more answers are in, but the service cannot tell a client’s answer from one a coach added, so in a small group a coach could work a person’s numbers out; the client is told so before they share. A reflection is a starting point for a conversation, not an assessment of a person.
4e. Beta Products, Class Pro and Test Payments
Class Pro, the coach cabinet and the practitioner tool are offered as free betas. The prices shown beside them (Class Pro: $4.99 a month billed yearly ($59.88), or $9.99 month to month. The coach cabinet: $12 a month, or $99 a year, for up to 15 clients. The practitioner tool: $9 a month.) are planned prices as of 10 October 2026, not charges. We will tell you in your cabinet at least 30 days before billing starts, and nothing is charged unless you choose to pay then. A beta may change or end; if it ends, we tell you first and you keep the export and delete controls for at least 30 days.
While payments run in Stripe’s test mode, only people we have listed as testers can open a payment page, no real card is charged, and a test payment grants nothing outside the test.
4f. The Practitioner Tool
A tool to send standard questionnaires and add up their scores by their published keys; the clinical judgement is yours. It is for health professionals qualified to use these questionnaires with their clients, who confirm that before their first link. You use the totals alongside your own clinical judgement; you are responsible for following up what a client answers, including item 9 of the PHQ-9, which nobody watches as answers arrive; and you keep the records on your device and the files you export as you keep your other client records. Each questionnaire is reproduced under its authors’ terms, recorded on /practitioners/, and you use it under those terms.
5. The API and Its Plans
The item API described at /developers/ has a keyless playground — a small daily allowance per network address, for the three original item kinds — and, with an account, a one-time trial and three plans, Maker, Research and Lab. Their limits and features are listed on /pricing/.
Public-seed items are CC0. Items generated from a public seed are released under CC0: you may use them commercially, publish them and train on them, with no attribution required.
Private-seed and snapshot items are licensed to the account holder. Items generated in an account’s private seed namespace (Research and Lab) and the items of a sealed monthly snapshot (Lab) are licensed to the account holder, for the holder’s own use, including training and evaluation. You may publish results and scores obtained on them, but you may not redistribute or publish the items themselves before the reveal date. A snapshot’s reveal date is the first day of the following month (UTC): from then on we publish its seeds and its items are CC0. Private-seed items have no reveal date and stay licensed to the holder.
The beta. During the beta every plan is free to activate and to use. Prices shown on /pricing/, in US dollars excluding tax, are what a plan will cost after the beta. Billing starts only when the beta ends: we will email the account holder first, and nothing is charged without your confirmation. An account that does not confirm returns to the trial limits.
Price changes. We may change a price or a plan. A change never applies to a period already paid for, and we tell you before it takes effect. The price and its version shown when you activated a plan are recorded with your account.
No service level. The API is provided as-is. Rate limits, monthly quotas and site-wide daily ceilings may refuse a request, and we may change or withdraw a feature. There is no availability, latency or support commitment, during the beta or after it, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Termination. You may stop using a plan at any time, and deleting your account ends every plan and every key. We may suspend or end a plan or a key that is used to break these Terms, to resell access or in a way that threatens the service, and we may end the beta or withdraw a plan with notice by email.
What we ask in return for every item is accuracy about what it is — an original item with a published rule, not a normed test.
6. Sources and Intellectual Property
Each test names its source, rights posture and scoring limits. Third-party names and instruments remain the property of their respective owners. We may update, correct or withdraw a test at any time.
About our tests
Our tests are for self-reflection and practice; they do not provide a medical or psychological diagnosis. Results can depend on your device and the conditions in which you take a test. Third-party names and brands belong to their respective owners; MyTestAtlas is not affiliated with them. Openly licensed material is credited on our Sources page.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Availability and results are provided without a guarantee of fitness for any particular decision.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyTestAtlas is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any decision taken on the basis of a result. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
9. Privacy
Our handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes are reflected in the effective date above and described on this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Material changes
- On 29 October 2026 we clarified the wording of these Terms, including use of results, class guidance and when tests may change.
Earlier versions
On 25 September 2026 section 5 was rewritten for the API plans: public-seed items remain CC0; private-seed and snapshot items are licensed to the account holder with no redistribution before the reveal date; and the beta, price changes, the absence of a service level and termination are set out. The API is no longer described as offered free and without an account.
On 5 October 2026 section 4b was added for class sessions on the reading speed test, and section 3 now lets a teacher use that test with a class.
In October 2026 section 4c was added for teachers’ classes, with our commitments as the processor of pupils’ results, and sections 3 and 4b now cover them.
