Reading Speed Test
Read one short non-fiction passage with a calm timer running, then answer three questions about it. The result is your words per minute for that passage on this device, beside your comprehension.
English and study skills, scored openly
Free grammar, spelling, English level and reading-speed tests. A score out of 100, accuracy by skill, every answer explained, no sign-up and no level label.
A test in this hub is a right-or-wrong quiz, not a personality questionnaire. Each one reports a MyTestAtlas score out of 100, accuracy for each skill family, and a review of every question with the correct answer and, where a rule or a dictionary entry settles it, the public reference it was checked against. Two families are checked differently and the review says so: the reading questions are keyed to short passages written for this site, so the passage in front of you is the whole reference, and the register questions are judged for what fits the reader and the setting, against Purdue OWL's guidance on tone in business writing rather than against a rule that decides each one. The grammar test covers agreement, tenses, articles, pronouns, prepositions and punctuation; the spelling test covers doubled consonants, silent letters, -ible and -able, ie and ei, homophones and confused words; the English level test adds vocabulary in context, short reading passages, collocations and register. A reading-speed test with a timer also lives in this hub at /learn/reading-speed-test/, and reports words per minute measured on your own device. None of these tests assigns a CEFR level, a grade, a reading age, or a percentile, and the guide in this hub explains why a free quiz cannot.

What the CEFR is, what IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English and EF SET each measure, why a free quiz cannot assign a level, and how to use a skill breakdown instead.
Look for a pattern worth testing in real life. Do not use a result to diagnose yourself, prove intelligence, or make a hiring decision. Each route links its source and scoring method.
