What does this test do?
It shows ten number sequences and asks for the next term, two from each of five rule families: linear steps, multiplication, recursive sequences where a term is built from the ones before it, alternating patterns, and squares. It takes about four minutes.
Is ten items enough to tell me anything?
Not much on its own. All ten sit in the same difficulty tier, so the score is simply the share you answered correctly, and with two items per family a single miss moves a family from all to half. Read it as a quick look at which kinds of rule you spot, not as a measurement, and not as an IQ or a measure of intelligence.
Why is there no percentile or ranking?
This site prints no population percentile on any route, because it has no representative sample to build one from. Your score is measured against what these ten items can award and compares you with them only.
Some sequences look as though more than one answer would work. Which one counts?
Short sequences can often be continued by more than one rule, and that is a genuine limitation of the format rather than a trick. Each item is written from one rule family, and the review after the result names the family it was built on, so you can see whether you found a different rule or simply missed this one.
