What this assessment measures

This is entertainment, and here is exactly what that means. It is a reflective exercise built from a way of reading books and films, not from research. There is no norm group, no independent evidence that these six roles are separable patterns in people, nothing is scored and nothing is added up, and a different evening in a different mood would move the readings around. What it can honestly ask is which roles in a story you recognise yourself in, because recognising yourself in a role is something a person can actually report and it makes no claim about anything underneath. Twenty-four statements describe ordinary situations, a group that cannot decide where to eat, a plan that changes at the last minute, an explanation that stops one step short, and ask how often you do the thing described. The result names the role your answers leaned on today, and a second beside it when two are close. None of the six is the good one to get, none of them is a strength or a weakness, and a role you barely touched is not something to go and work on.

Questions people ask

Is this based on research?

No. The published instruments in this tradition are mostly evaluated by their own authors and there is no substantial independent literature to point at. This page says so at the top rather than in the small print.

Which role is the best one to get?

None of them. Each of the six is the useful one in some stories and the difficult one in others, and the result copy is written that way on purpose. There is no ranking and no winner.

Does this tell me anything about my personality?

Not in the way a personality test claims to. It reports how often you said you do certain things in certain rooms, which is a fact about the answers you gave today rather than a pattern underneath them.

Why does it ask what I do rather than what I am like?

Because statements about what a person is like are how a quiz turns into a horoscope. Everything here is a specific situation with a specific response, which is much harder to agree with out of politeness.
