Reaction and attention tasks
Measure your reaction time in five trials
Tap or press Space when the box turns green. Five valid trials give your median, best and mean reaction time in milliseconds on this device, plus early presses.
What this assessment measures
This test measures simple reaction time: the delay between a colour change and your press, over five valid trials. It reports the median, the best trial and the mean in milliseconds, and counts presses that came before the change.
What this test reports
- median reaction time
- best trial
- anticipations
- missed trials
How the task works
- The box is grey while you wait; after one to four seconds it turns green.
- Press Space, Enter or tap the box as fast as you can when it turns green.
- Pressing early counts as an anticipation and the trial repeats.
- Five valid trials end the task.
This task needs vision and a pointer or keyboard, and it measures response times. Times are measured on this device and browser and are reported as your own figures; they are not comparable across devices or with other people. If you use a screen reader or cannot respond quickly, the questionnaires and reasoning tests on this site are the accessible route.

Reaction time depends on the device, screen refresh, input method, browser and how alert you are. Figures from this page are yours on this device today; they cannot be compared with other people or with published averages, and they say nothing clinical.
This route calculates its result in this browser tab; answers and result text are not sent as analytics properties or written to browser storage. Response times stay in this tab as well.
