What this assessment measures

This reflection separates four ways doubt keeps its footing: putting aside evidence that you handled something, measuring your progress against other people, asking to be told it is fine, and the gap between a decision and doing it. Each is reported on its own. It cannot measure how good you are at anything, and it is not a check for any condition.

Sixteen questions on one day, with no norm, no cut-off and no total. It cannot measure your competence, judge how risky a decision actually is, or tell you that your uncertainty is unfounded, since some doubt is the correct reading of a situation. If a hard view of yourself has stayed with you for weeks, or it is keeping you from things you want, that is worth saying to a doctor or to someone you trust.

Why this route is different

A confidence number tells you what you already knew. The four patterns point at four different experiments: keep a line of evidence where you will see it, change what you are measuring against, write your own answer before you ask for anyone else's, or take the smallest step you could undo. Whichever stood out is the one to try first.

A small next step

Pick one low-stakes decision you have been circling. Before you ask anybody, write three lines: the evidence for, the evidence against, and the smallest step you could take that you could undo. Take that step this week, then write what the doubt did afterwards, which one sitting can never show you.

Questions people ask

What does a self-doubt test measure?

This one shows how four patterns appeared in your own answers today: evidence you set aside, comparison, reassurance you go looking for, and an action that stalls. It describes the answers you gave, with no ranking and no cut-off.

Is self-doubt the same as imposter feelings?

They overlap without being identical. This page stays with four everyday mechanics rather than naming a syndrome, because a mechanic is something you can run an experiment on this week.

Can a test tell me whether my doubt is justified?

No, and this one does not try. It reports how four patterns showed up in your answers; whether the underlying worry is well founded is a question about your situation, which only evidence from that situation can settle.

Why is there no overall confidence score?

Because one number would hide which part stalls. Discounting evidence and delaying an action call for different responses, so the four are kept apart and never added together.

Are my answers saved anywhere?

No. There is no account and no sign-up, and the questions are free to take. Your answers and your result stay in this browser tab and are gone when you close or reset it.
