Span and recognition tasks
Find the longest run of digits you can repeat
Watch a growing sequence of digits and enter it back in order. It grows until you miss twice; your result is the longest span you reproduced on this attempt.
What this assessment measures
Digit span is the classic short-term memory task: digits are shown one at a time and repeated back in order, with the sequence growing by one after each success. The result is the longest sequence you reproduced before missing twice at one length.

- longest span

How the task works
- Three digits appear one at a time, about one per second.
- Repeat them in the order shown, using the keypad or your keyboard, then Submit.
- Every correct sequence grows by one digit; two misses at the same length stop the task.
- The backward version is the working memory test in this hub.
This task needs vision and a pointer or keyboard, and it measures response times. Times are measured on this device and browser and are reported as your own figures; they are not comparable across devices or with other people. If you use a screen reader or cannot respond quickly, the questionnaires and reasoning tests on this site are the accessible route.

- Original MyTestAtlas task; device-local figures, no norm
A span from one sitting on one device is a snapshot, not a memory score; sleep, noise, strategy and familiarity with the task all move it, and the figure is not comparable with clinical digit-span norms.
This route calculates its result in this browser tab; answers and result text are not sent as analytics properties or written to browser storage. Response times stay in this tab as well.
