What this assessment measures

This self-check reports four patterns from your everyday social life: the build-up before an event, what happens while you are in it, how you avoid or leave, and the replay afterwards. It asks about seventeen ordinary situations and shows each pattern on its own scale. The items are original to MyTestAtlas and are not a clinical screener. There is no cut-off and no total, and the result cannot tell you whether you have social anxiety disorder.

Material limit

Original reflection items with no norm group cannot separate these patterns from the things that look like them. Those include plain shyness, a preference for your own company, autism, a stretch of low mood, a fear specific to speaking in front of a group, and a genuinely hard year at work or at home. Only a clinician taking a full history can weigh those.

Use the result

Why this route is different

You leave with four named patterns instead of one number that sorts you into shy or not shy. Behind each pattern sit the concrete situations you marked. That is what a clinician asks about, and it is what a scored quiz never hands you.

A small next step

For the next two weeks keep one line per social event: what it was, what you expected before it, and what actually happened. Two weeks of lines show the gap between the prediction and the event, and that gap is the part an appointment can use.

Questions people ask

Can this test tell me if I have social anxiety?

No. It has no cut-off, no total and no diagnostic rule, and no online questionnaire can diagnose social anxiety disorder. Only a qualified clinician working from your history can do that.

What is the difference between this and being shy or introverted?

This self-check cannot tell those apart, and that is the honest answer. Shyness, a preference for small groups, and a long-running fear of being judged can all produce the same answers here.

What does the result actually show?

Four pattern cards, each showing how prominent that pattern was in your own answers on its own scale. There is no total score, no threshold and no comparison with other people.

Are my answers stored or sent anywhere?

No. The result is calculated in this browser tab. Answers and result text are never sent as analytics properties and are never written to browser storage.

What should I do if the result worries me?

Write down three recent situations with dates and take them to a doctor or a mental health professional. If you feel unsafe or are thinking about harming yourself, contact a crisis line now rather than taking another test.
